Today's shopping trip

I wore myself out today.

I went to Walgreens first to try the razor deal I posted on my fan page. I bought:

1 6 pack double rolls of Charmin toilet paper. It was on clearance for $3.59, and I used a .25 coupon. Not great, but I needed TP and that was cheap enough for right now.

1 Plackers 90 ct toothpicks $2, got a $2 RR back

7 Hallmark sympathy cards, and 1 Hallmark birthday card. Sympathy cards were .49, and the bday card was .99= $4.42 and I got a $5 RR back

3 packs of Scotch packing tape .99 each with the in-ad coupon, and I used 3 $1 coupons to make them free.

1 Schick Quattro titanium disposeable razors $5.99. There are $4 coupons out, but all I had were $2 coupons, so I paid $3.99 and got back a $3 RR and a $1 RR

With tax, my total was $14.86, and I got back $11 in RR
So, I get out to the car, then decide that was too good of a deal on those not to go again. A manager had rung me up, so for some reason I felt weird going back in. I guess I didn't want to appear to be a coupon crazed register reward maniac, which I am, but I didn't want to appear that way. I ninja'ed my way back in, picked up my razors, paid with a $2 RR and a $2 coupon, oop was $1.99 and I got back $4 in RR.

***************************

After all of that, I moseyed on over to Walmart, where I didn't get too much because I had a gift and some paint to buy. I did get:

Tide Stain release $3.97- $3 coupon = .97
6 cans of Alpo $4.02- $1 coupon from coupons.com = $3.02/6
Edwards lemon meringue pie single $1.12- $1 coupon= .12
1 pack of Schick disposeables $1.97- $2 coupon = .03 profit
TGI Fridays potato skins $2.48-$1.50 coupon = .98 (also on coupons.com)
La Cross emery boards $1.00-.50 peelie on pack= .50
Windex Multi-Surface $2- $1 coupon also on coupons.com- $1
*************************

You can get some high value Stouffers coupons by becoming a fan on facebook. These are on sale at Walmart and Kroger right now.

*************************

After I did all of that, I went to JCPenney's. I had a $10/$10 coupon that had come in the mail. After browsing the store, I decided to buy a nice bra. Honestly (and I know you care) I have been wearing sports bras the majority of the time because I HATE underwire. (Relax, if I dress up, I wear the underwire-trying-to-stab-me-in-the-heart-bra.) So, I was wandering through the store and I got to thinking how much I miss being in a pretty bra, and I broke down and bought one. It was originally $34, on sale for $16.88 and I used my coupon to make it $6.88. It's probably the most expensive (orginal price) bra I have ever owned. I usually buy mine at outlets. But it's pretty and I am happy.

I have a new giveaway coming up. Keep watching!! Fans on FB will get a heads up before it's posted.

Have a great shopping day!

Well, you know how it is..

you want to make something, look in the fridge and/or pantry and realize you need a couple of things from the store. Man, I hate going to the store blind. I wasn't even sure what was on sale, but I still got some good deals!

Kroger:
Capri-sun- $1.99- $1 coupon = .99
3 packs of Ronzini Smart Taste pasta $1.00 each- 3 .50 coupons, which doubled= FREE
pack of Bumblebee tuna $1.00- .75 coupon= .25

The Old El Paso products had a sign, buy 3, get $1 back. I had a coupon that said buy 2, get a free can of refried beans. I bought 2 taco seasonings and got the free can, making all three .99

I also found, in the freezer section, 2 packs of these little pork chops wrapped in bacon. They were made by Farmland and were on closeout for .99 each. I used 2 .75 coupons and 1 $1.00 coupon and got six pork chops for .98

So, they worked out pretty well. I am considering going back just for more of the pasta. I hate our Krogers 3 like coupons rule. :(

This weekend will be great for coupons..be sure to get plenty! There are also some great coupons up on coupons.com (link to the left)

****************************************

At Walgreens there is a deal where you get 8 Hallmark cards and get a $5 RR back. You can buy the .49 kids cards for this, making them $3.92, and you will get a $5 RR. You can also get the .99 cards, which is not a profit, but you only spend $2.92 for 8 cards.

I am going to hit Walmart and possibly Walgreens today! Wish me luck!

Have a great shopping day!

Do you like ice cream?
Dairy Queen is running Blizzards buy one, get one for .25!! AND
April 28th is .31 cent night at Baskin Robbins from 5-10. Limit 3 scoops per person.

I went to a nearby Mennonite grocery yesterday. I love this place. I got cereal for .50/box, fresh bread, lots of snacks, and my oldest son treated me to ice cream! What a good boy! I love that grocery.

I emailed Soft Scrub about their new Soft Scrub Total products, which I LOVE and they send me a whole BUNCH of coupons!!

Walmart is still running 24 packs of Coke and Pepsi products for $5. Look for $1 peelies at other stores. There aren't any at Walmart.

ummmmm yum!

So, the other day, Aldi had strawberries for .99. I love Aldi's for produce, BTW, when I can't get to the mennonite's out here. ANYWAY, I bought 4 containers. Usually, I will freeze some, but I never had the chance! I found a strawberry cake recipe to make and my family loved it so much that I have made 2 now! I tweaked it a little, but here it is:

1 box white cake mix (I used yellow, because I already had it. I don't think it made a difference)
1 pkg (3oz) strawberry jello
1 c vegetable oil
1/4 c water
4 eggs, lightly beaten (I used 3, and then used 3 T of mayo..it makes a cake way more moist)
3/4 c mashed strawberries

For the icing:
1/2 c butter
1 lb powdered sugar (I didn't say this cake was GOOD for you)
1/4 c mashed strawberries

Combine the cake mix and jello (powder) in a bowl. Beat in oil, eggs (mayo), water and strawberries. Pour into 2 greased 9 in cake pans. (I used a 13x9 because I'm lazy like that). Bake 350 for 30 minutes (this will take longer if you use a 13x9)

Beat butter and powdered sugar together. Add strawberries, Ice your cake! :)
I added a LITTLE less sugar and a little more strawberries to make it a little thinner and kind of poured it over the cake, then spread it out. It's thicker than a glaze, but a little less thick than traditional icing. My husband likes it that way.

Hope you enjoy it!

I went to Walmart yesterday and had to buy so many stinkin' things for the house that I didn't get in a good coupon shopping trip. I did use a $1.50 coupon on some TGI Fridays appetizers that were $2.48

Also, the Glade Sense and Spray and the Glade Lasting impressions are on rollback for $5. I had a $4 coupon on the Sense and Spray and a $3 coupon on the Lasting Impressions.

What's this?

A giveaway? You betcha!

Courtesy of MyBlogSpark and Yoplait yogurt, I received a "Nourish your inner goddess" gift pack, including 2 VIP coupons to try the new Yoplait Greek Yogurt, as well as some other items to help me relax (I'll let them be a surprise to the winner, but will post about them later)....AND they offered to give one of my readers a gift pack too!

First and foremost, I went and picked up one pack of yogurt so far. I got the blueberry. I was a little apprehensive because my last (and only at the time) experience with Greek yogurt was NOT a pleasant one. I was really impressed, though! It was thick and creamy, not at all bitter like my last experience. They come in strawberry, blueberry, honey vanilla, and plain. I think my next cup will be the strawberry.

I really did like the taste, and it's hard to please me with a yogurt. I usually end up buying the same things over and over because I know I will like them. I have high hopes for the other flavors....well, maybe not plain, because I never have liked plain yogurt.

For the campaign, Yoplait also teamed up with the actress who plays Athena in Clash of the Titans, Izabella Miko, and offered us a look at their trailer. You can go here to see it.

In addition, they offered my readers a .30 coupon here.

Now, if you would like to participate in the giveaway, there are a few things you can do.
#1- add a comment to this blog about which flavor you would like to try
#2- add a comment to the blog telling us how you take care of yourself (they call this nourishing your inner goddess, but I feel weird using that term, so we'll call it pampering yourself)
#3- Become a fan on Facebook. All fans will get an additional entry.
#4- post a link to the giveaway on your blog, then email me at dimestretchermom.com with the link so I can check it out
#5- Tweet about the giveaway on Twitter. Be sure you email me where I can find the tweet!

You can do any or all of these. You will get an entry for each one.
DISCLAIMER- Yoplait and MyBlogSpark also inform me that the coupons for free cups are not valid in the following states:
California
Idaho
Louisiana
Minnesota
Nevada
New Jersey
North Dakota and
Tennessee

If you would like to join in anyway, you can, but the coupons are restricted by law there.
The deadline for this giveaway is Monday, April 19th.

Have a great shopping day!

Did you get it?

Did you get in on the free hair color yesterday? What's that you say? You knew nothing about it? Well, that must be because you aren't a fan on Facebook!!

**********************

The Coupon Junkie has a great post on My Little Ponies at Toys R Us.
Also at TRU-

Mr Potato Head for $1.99 with coupon.

Glow Worm for $2.99 with coupon.

*********************

There are P&G coupons coming out this week. Get extra. Next week at Walgreens, there will be a deal with Oral B toothbrushes. They will be 3/$9 with a $3 RR. Use 3 $2 coupons and they will all 3 be free after RR.

********************

I didn't even go to Kroger this week. Pick your jaw up off of the floor. I just wasn't impressed. I did go to Food Lion, but still didn't get much. Slow weeks are why I love my stockpile!! I found some Land of Frost lunchmeat on closeout for $.69 and used $.60 peelies on them, making them $.09 each. I don't like them, but the kids do, so I tossed some in the freezer. We have sandwiches a lot in warmer weather, especially for picnics and that sort of thing.

I had my $5 Smithfield coupon and used it on a ham on sale for $8.99. $3.99 isn't bad for a ham, and we will have it for Easter dinner.

Hormel Completes were $2 each. I've not had them before that I can recall, so I bought one and used a $1 coupon on it.

I also bought some more of the macaroni and cheese I talked about in my last post before the coupons expired. :) No 5 year old melt-downs in my house!!

********************

The only great deal I got at Walmart was overage on Reese's Dark. They are .50 and the coupons are for .55.
Diet Coke 24 packs were $5.98 though. :)

********************

Some people are reporting that John Frieda RR's are rolling (meaning you can use a JF RR to do the same deal again.) This is a total your mileage may vary type of thing. Buy 3 for $5 each, use 3 $3 coupons, pay $6..unless you already have RR's from something else. You will get a $5 RR. Do the same deal over again, using your $5 RR to pay. You will probably need a tiny filler and will need several coupons. Good luck!

Have a great shopping day!
