"Free" lemonade and a good shopping day...

Well, first, I got my ham rebate in the mail, so I say today was a good mail day!

************************

Here's the lemonade deal, but it's only good for a couple of days that I know of. My Kroger ad runs Sunday through Saturday, if that helps. Coupons.com (link to the left) has a coupon for $1.50 on 2 Country Time Lemonade mixes. Right now, at my Kroger, they are $1.25 each. Buy 2, that is $2.50, then take off $1.50 for the coupon and you get them both for $1.00. BUT I got a catalina today that says buy 2 between 5/29 and 6/11 and get $1 OYNO coupon, making them essentially, free. Since my ad runs Sun through Sat, (unless the prices are good longer) I will have to do it Friday or Saturday.

I also bought a 5 pack of Kraft mac and cheese for $3.49 today, used the Free Capri Sun w/ purchase coupon, and got a $1.50 cat for it. So, for $1.99, I got 5 boxes of mac and cheese and a pack of Capri Suns.

Betty Crocker brownies were $1 each, and I used $1/2 coupons x 2 (I bought 4) to get them all for $2

Welch's mandarin mango juice was marked down to $1.69 and I used a $.50 coupon (doubled to $1) from writing the company (they sent 4) and got it for .69

I found some Pillsbury breadsticks marked down to .79 each and used a .40/2 coupon (doubled) to get 2 for .78

2 Fresh express salad kits for $2.29 each, used 2 $1 coupons and got them for $1.29 each

2 Weber Grill mates $1 each, used 2 .50 coupons (doubled) to get both FREE

2 Luck's beans .75 each...I had 2 .50 coupons from writing the company, the register took off .50, then .25 as the bonus coupon but they were still free, just no overage.

10 packs of Kool aid.... .15 each. Coupons.com (link to left) had .50/10 coupons, doubled, making them .50/10. Check, because some Krogers have these for .10 each which would make them free, but mine said that would be the price until July, so I went ahead and bought them.

Miracle Whip for $2.59- $1 Kraft coupon = $1.59. I am stocking up on Miracle Whip. My kids love it.

Pedigree Dentastix $4.39 - $2.50 coupon -$2.50 shortcuts coupon = .61 profit

**********************************

Walmart

Walmart had a lot of clearance today! Bill Nye Paper factory was on clearance for $2. These have been $7 since Christmas, and I think they were $15 before Christmas. I bought 2 for gifts. :)

I got a Mainstays silicone spatula for $1 on clearance, an Oneida hand held grater for $1 on clearance.

An address book for .25!!

A mini notebook (5x7) for .50

2 2-packs of Sterilite baskets on clearance for $1.50 These are larger ones, too.

There were all sorts of kitchen stuff and notebooks, Day Planners, etc on clearance.

Regular stuff I got:

2 4-packs Cottonelle $1 each, minus 2 $1 coupons= FREE

2 easy macs $1.52- $1 Kraft coupon = .52/2

Bic Mark-it's $4.24 - $3 coupon = $1.24

2 Kraft Dressings $1.58 each - (2) $1 Kraft coupons = $1.16/2

2 Heinz Vinegars $1 each - $1/2 coupons (hanging on bottles in a little booklet) = $1/2

Memory game $7 - $5q= $2

Monopoly card game $5.24- $5q= .24

Glade Lasting Impressions $5- $4q = $1

Smart Taste elbow macaroni $1.50 - $1q = .50

Triscuits $2-$1q= $1

Kraft BBQ sauce .98-$1 = .02 profit

Well, first things first. Go here: http://www.cottonelle.com/add_pledge.aspx submit the pledge and get $1 on Cottonelle toilet paper. Hot the back button a few times and you can print it twice. SOME Walmarts have these for $1 making free toilet paper. If not, it's a good coupon, anyway.

I will be out of town for a few days starting Friday, so there will be no weekend blog.

*************************

This has been a hard week. My 4 year old was bitten by a tick Sunday. By Sunday evening, he had swelled up around the area so badly that I rushed him to the ER. Poor baby...had to have blood drawn twice, 2 shots, and is on 2 antibiotics, a steroid, and a cream. He had gotten an infection, and I was told it could have moved to his heart or brain. He is on the mend, doing much better, and was even able to return to preschool today.

*************************

Fed Ex....grrrr...I ordered a new printer from Walmart.com. It was to be delivered yesterday. I checked the website and it said it had been delivered. It hadn't. They left it at someone else's house! When I called they told me it could take up to 3 business days to find it. Um, no. I sent my son (the oldest) to ask around nearby...we know everyone, and are related to some of them, and we found it. I don't have a problem with them leaving things on a porch, but they should make sure it's the right house!!! They just leave stuff wherever they want! I like UPS. UPS calls if they can't find you. Fed ex just gives it to someone else. >:(

*********************

All of this bug talk has gotten me worried about my kids outside this year. I got an OFF Powerpad Lamp and an OFF Clip on from BzzAgent. I think this will make me feel a lot better. It may not have helped the tick bite, but I'm confident that it will help against mosquito bites. My kids like to eat outdoors and now they can eat in peace.

The Clip on is kinda cool. You can clip it on your waistband or even set it close to you and it has a repellent and a little fan inside to disperse it. You don't have to have that stinky spray stuff on your skin!!! It is about $8.99, and you can buy refills for it. The refills last about 12 hours, so you;ll get long term protection. There's even a little indicator to let you know you need to put in a new refill.

The Powerpad lamp is great for parties or just sitting out on your deck or porch. It comes with a lamp that you can reuse, a little candle, and a repellant pad. It's about $9.49, but it lasts about 4 hours and protects a large area, about 15x15.

The refill packs have 3 pads and 3 candles, so they are a pretty good deal for $5.49.

Heaven knows I hate bugs, so I am looking forward to a mosquito free summer!

New deals, free Arby's!

I've been working in the garden/yard and I've learned a few things.
1) even with gardening gloves, blisters are a distinct possibility
2) Neosporin with pain relief is priceless (thanks Walgreens sales!)
3) some weeds....look a lot like veggie plants
4) Diego band-aids are a stunning fashion statement.

Oh, well. At least the plants are starting to come up good. My tomatoes are almost 2 feet tall.

************************

I had an awesome mail day again yesterday.
I got:
a Gillette Fusion razor
1 $5 VIP gift certificate from Bar S, plus 4 .25 coupons (and they are on sale 10/$10 at Kroger, making those boogers .50 a pack!)
2 FREE On-Cor dinners coupons, plus a .35 coupon
4 .35 Florida Naturals coupons
.50 Kids Cuisine coupon

************************

The Kraft coupons I printed from coupons.com are really awesome lately. If coupons.com "runs out" for you, try the Food Lion website. I printed more there.

A lot of the snack crackers they have had on the coupons are $2 at Walmart, making them $1 each.
Today, the Miracle Whip and Mayo went on sale at my Kroger for $2.59, making them just $1.59 a JAR!!!!

This time of year, you will notice a lot of condiments and picnic/cookout items start going on sale. I always stock up. I have enough mustard to feed a small army.

***********************

I have gone to Kroger lately more than I should. I can't help myself. Last week, 12 oz Oscar Mayer bologna was 10/$10, and the $1/2 coupons made them .50 each. This week, they are 2/$3. Not as good, but still cheap. Same with Oscar Mayer hotdogs. I am freezing a lot of them.

Cool Whip was $1 each and I had $1/2 coupons.

Betty Crocker brownies were $1 each and I had $1/2 coupons

Kool Aid canisters are $1.25 each and I had $1/2 coupons- plus Country Time lemonade was the same price and I had a $1.50 coupon that came out of the catalina machine a while back! HOORAY!

The Weber Marinades are $1.09 at my store and the .50 coupons from today, doubled made them .09 each.

Betty Crocker Suddenly Salads are $2.49. I bought 2, used a $1/2 coupon, a .35/1 Shortcuts coupon (loads to card), and a $.35 Cellfire coupon (loads to card).

I found a coupon on Coke 2 Liters for $1 off when you buy one and a frozen pizza. The Kroger 3 minute pizzas are 1.00 and the Coke was $1.24, so $1.24 for a pizza and a 2 liter.

Coke 12 packs are $2.50 each wyb 4, and I found peelies on some for $2/2 Barq's, Mellow Yellow, Minute Maid, Fanta, and Vault. I used 2 and got 4 12 packs for $6

There was also a tearpad in front of the Cokes with coupons:
$1/2 Coke 12 packs or multi-packs bottles
$1 on produce wyb 1 Hidden Valley Ranch bottled dressing (16oz)
$1/2 Suddenly Salad
$1/2 Betty Crocker brownie mixes
Buy Kingsford or Match Light 9lb + and get free KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce

Photo blog

Here are some of the coupons I have received from my writing campaign. I will list the ones I wrote this week and who I have heard back from tomorrow.

Here are my green beans I made. I snapped them first.

I cover them in water and add chicken boullion cubes.

I let them simmer slowly. At some point, I add salt, onion, and bacon fat. I keep it in a jar in my fridge. A tablespoon or so will do.

I simmer them for several hours....I just watch until they turn a nice deep green..Add the salt that you want if you haven't already. My family can't get enough!

Free BBQ sauce and more!

Ok, this is big. Huge. Coupons.com (access them through the button to the left) has KRAFT coupons. Kraft coupons are rare. Really good ones are even MORE rare. You should be able to print them twice. If you can't see them again after you print, then come back to this page and click it again. This leads me to the free BBQ sauce. I just ran in Walmart today and their Kraft BBQ sauce is .98. The coupon on coupons.com is for $1. FREE Cha-ching! After you print them twice from here, go to the Kraft website and print them 2 more times! There are coupons for Ritz, Miracle Whip, Mayo, dressing, Wheat Thins, cheese, Oscar Mayer, mac and cheese and more. Print, print, print! Hurry!

Happy Mother's day!

I have had a great week! We renewed our cell contract on Wednesday and I got my new phone...and LG Vu which I love, and I got a new grill...Thursday, my husband took off (he would have had to been at work that night, so he was off for the weekend) and we test drove some cars here in town. Then Friday, we drove to Evansville Indiana and went to an art store and some other places..we drove by a car lot that had excellent prices...and bought a 2006 Saturn Vue! And I LOVE it! Saturday, we went out with his mom and family, and today we had a cookout for my mom. My boys made me cards, and my little one planted me 2 flowers at prechool that he brought me home.

Shopping has been meh...I've gotten a few good deals, but my bottom line wasn't as great this week. HOWEVER, and this is totally a your mileage may vary type of thing, but I found 2 Miller Lite displays at my Kroger. One had $3 rebate when you buy $7.99 or more of ground beef (no beer purchase required) and one had a $10 rebate when you buy a grill priced $99 or more (no beer purchase required. SCORE! I will send off for both rebates.

Kroger is having some really good deals on certain items this week. Lettuce is .77 a head, 12 oz Oscar Mayer bologna is .99 (be careful not to get the 16oz because it is NOT on sale), Big K colas are $1.77 a 12 pack (and their diet Big K with Lime is awesome). There's a whole lot more, but that's what's off of the top of my head.

I have gotten all sorts of coupons from my writing campaign this week. I took some pictures of some of them that I will have to get posted.

I got:

2 $1/2 Seapak items
another sheet of coupons from Little Crow foods (miracle maize)
2 $3 off Field products
2 .55 on Bush beans
2 .55 Hungry Jack products
free John Morrell product

and Sister Schubert and Louis Kemp both have emailed that they are sending coupons. Some companies don't email, they just send them. Some just email and thanks, and that's ok, too. I need to make a list of companies to write this week as well.

Have a fabulous shopping day!

Tuesday, May 5, 2009

Quick update

Go to Oprah.com/KFC to get a coupon for a free 2 piece grilled chicken meal with 2 sides and a biscuit. This has to be done w/in 24 hours.

Monday already?

I just got an invitation for a Bzz campaign for OFF. I'm thrilled. Living out in the county, we have a lot of mosquitoes.

**********************

I have already heard from some of the companies I wrote over the weekend.

Frigo cheese and Miracle Maize are both sending coupons, and Miracle Maize said that I could get coupons monthly from the link I posted yesterday! HURRAY!

Tropicana sent me a thank you, and I had written Biofreeze to ask for samples and they are sending them. I'll keep you updated!

*********************

My poor garden. My poor, sweet garden. It has rained every day for a week and I can't even get into it to weed it. My poor garden!! On the plus side...the plants are really shooting up.

*********************

I got a 10lb bag of potatoes at Kroger yesterday for $1.89 because they are starting to go soft. So, what I am going to do is make huge batches of mashed potatoes and freeze them in meal sized portions in freezer bags. I have done this many times, and it does work. It seems a little runny when you thaw it out, but once you heat it up and mix it, it's fine.

*********************

I learned today that I fail at searching. My mom got me a gorgeous set of china, and I had some random pieces of other china that I had bought at garage sales that I no longer have room for. A couple of pieces are very old, and I wanted to search online for them because I am going to sell them. All I really got is a headache. I am search impaired.

********************

Redbox code today: BT73H9

********************

Kelloggs cereals are on sale at Kroger. Use the printable coupons from coupons.com (button to the left) to get CHEAP cereal. I'll probably stock up on several. They also had $3 Huggies coupons!

I found peelies yesterday at Kroger for free capri sun when you buy a 5 pack of Kraft macaroni and cheese. I also got a catalina printout that says:

5/8-5/31 Buy Kraft Mac and cheese

buy 4 and get $1 oyno (on your next order)
buy 5 and get $1.50
buy 6 or more and get $2

I assume these are single boxes.

****************************

CVS has a $10 ECB when you buy $20 in Coke (or Mars) products- limit 1 deal
(Vitamin water is included if you still have those coupons)

Free after ECB or ECB + coupon:

$4.99 ECB WYB Zantrex 3
$3 ECB WYB Adidas Action 3 Deodorant for $3.99 (use $1 coupon from April) limit 3

Kelloggs cereal are 3/$10 and you get a $5 ECB, so the coupons.com coupons can be used for them as well. Not free, but super cheap!

***************************

There is a FREE 8x10 enlargement at Walgreens on Wednesday. Check your ad!

Colgate Sensitive toothpaste is $4.49 with a $4.49 RR. You can use the .75 coupons for Colgate out or get a $1.00 coupon here for a moneymaker: http://www.colgate.com/app/ColgateSensitiveNew/US/EN/HomePage.cvsp

(just a side note- if you watch these pharmacy deals, you should rarely, if ever have to pay for toothpaste)

There is a $2 RR on Right Guard that is $2.99. You should have a coupon for either $1 off or $1 off 2, making them cheap or free.

The RR are getting more and more abundant. Keep a close eye on them and I will try to help along.

****************************

TCBY and Cold Stone Creamery are both offering a free cone for mom on mother's day, and Claim Jumpers is offering a $10 coupon or gift card for your next visit.

****************************

I sent off for my first Amazon gift certificate from Swagbucks!!! I'm excited! And all I had to do is search! There's a button to the left to get you started.

***************************

It's the weekend!

I spent a good deal of time putting together that High School Musical pillow together for my 4 year old. Oh my gosh that was more time consuming than I ever thought a pillow was or should be!!!

I also cooked up some fresh green beans and if I have time tomorrow, I'll post pictures and how I make them. :)

I decided to write a few more companies this weekend.

On-Cor- asked them if they put out coupons because I can never find any.

Seapak- Love the shrimp. Love.

Bar S - complimented bologna and hot dogs

Ballpark- complimented hot dogs

Sara Lee- Complimented honey wheat soft and smooth bread. (best ever)

Idahoan potatoes- complimented their instant potatoes

Hungry Jack potatoes- ditto

KozyShack- love their ready grains.

Mrs Grissoms- love their pimento cheese and chicken salad

Field hot dogs- complimented hot dogs and bologna

Rhodes Dough- disappointed that I can't find more variety at Walmart

Frigo cheese- complimented cheese snacks and parm. cheese

John Morrell- complimented their smoked sausage

Ken's- complimented their salad dressings and marinades.

I received in the mail yesterday and awesome package from MenopauseRX.com (I have had a hysterectomy)
Inside was:

helpful pamplets and coupons
a sample of Doctor's choice multivitamins (3 tablets)
sample Chill cooling towel
sample cranberry supplement-1 chew
sample chocolate soy shake mix
20 day starter supply of Remifemin dietary supplement

I also got in the mail a free item coupon from Taco Bell because I wrote to tell them how dirty the store was that I visited last week. Well, maybe I can use it at another Taco Bell.
