Free dog food!

This is the dog food Walmart has for $5...I used the $ coupons from this month's P&G insert to get them free!!!! They expire Tuesday!

Update on writing:

I got thank you's from everyone I wrote to. Glade is sending me coupons. The others didn't mention coupons, so we will see. I will be writing more this weekend!

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

Good afternoon!!

A lot of Kmarts are doubling again this week! It was probably in your local ad if they are.

**********************************

Cellfire has some new coupons up to load to your Kroger card!

**********************************

Kroger didn't really have anything I thought I couldn't live without, so I haven't been this week. I DID look at the ad...

Buy 3 Coke products 3/$12 and get 2 free boxes of Ritz crackers. If you have the $1 off of Coke Zero AND another coke product, it's 3/$11. Not a fabulous price, but at least something comes free with it.

Quaker Oat Squares, Life, or Cap'n Crunch cereals are on sale if you buy four, they are $1.50 each. I know I have coupons for the Quaker cereal somewhere. There are $1/2 coupons on coupons.com (link to the left)

Kraft cheese 3/$5. I don't know if the 2% is included, but if it is, I still have 75 cent coupons from the blinkies that were there last month. (This is why I always say get extras!! I picked up a couple every time I went in) Makes them about .92 each.

Eggs are very cheap right now. These CAN be frozen if you freeze them in certain ways. You can find that information here: http://whatscookingamerica.net/Eggs/FreezingEgg.htm Stock up while they are cheap!

***********************************

Walgreens has a rebate to get $5 back when you buy $10 in Con Agra foods. The Hunts tomato sauce that is on sale this week is part of it. With the coupon in the ad, the price is 39 cents a can. They will ring up reg. price, and the coupon will come off at the end. The price it rings up originally is what qualifies for the rebate.

**********************************

It seems to be a pretty slow week sales wise. I hope it's better next week!

*********************************

I now have a small stockpile of Quaker Quakes from the Kroger deals. They are really good!!!!! I don't even like rice cakes! LOL

*********************************

My seedlings for my vegetables are getting big. I am going to have to transplant them soon. I hope that it helps with my veggie budget!! I have noticed there haven't been any great deals on vegetables since the free Green Giant steamers before Christmas. It's hard to pay much for them when you have been getting them free!

*********************************

Remember when I said to write the companies? Let them know what you like/don't like about the products. I wrote 4 companies yesterday. I intend to write as often as I can, and I will post the results here.

This week, I wrote:

Quaker- praise for the Quakes and Mini Delights

Glade- praise for the new Fragrance collection candles

Green Giant Steamers- praise

Swiffer sweeper/wet jet- told them that while I liked the product, I still have to use my reg. broom and mop.

*****************************

I am impressed with Chili's and I intend to write them and tell them so. Sunday, we went after church to eat. The meal was taking a while, but we were talking, etc, so other than a whiney 4 year old, it wasn't as bad as I have had before. The shift manager came over to the table, apologized, and told us he was buying us a molten for dessert. A lot of restaurants don't bother. They may tell you they are sorry you had to wait, but that's it. Just because of that little extra, they will probably get more business from us. I like to do business with places that have good customer service.

****************************

Save $4 on 10 weight watchers smart ones. (hopefully, there will be a nice sale to go along with this soon) : http://offers.eatyourbest.com/Coupon/

***************************

Coupons.com (link to the left) has some $5 off Leapster games, $10 off Leapster 2, $5 off Hasbro Elefun game, $5 Hasbro Gator golf, $4 Leapfrog Tag books (some were on clearance at Walmart), $5 Didj books, $10 off Tag system, $5 off Guess who extras, $10 off Didj system, as well as regular coupons.

**************************

Ever see a product in a gift set (such as Fusion gift sets) and wonder if your coupon (such as Fusion razor) will work on it? Look at the first set of numbers of the upc, and see if the first set of numbers on the coupon is the same. If it is, it will work. (not the small number to the left, the first set) Please use coupons responsibly.

*************************

I got Children's Claritin from BzzAgent. They are grape chewable tablets, and I have already fed my youngest one, because he has been sneezing and had a runny nose since yesterday. He liked the taste, they were easy for him to take, and so far, he seems to be feeling better. Unfortunately, all three of my children suffer from seasonal allergies, and Claritin helps keep them from being drowsy the way Benedryl does. In fact, he is outside playing right now. At least this is one less thing I will have to worry about today!

**************************

Have a great shopping day!

Kroger, stockpile and update

I thought I'd show you some of my beauty stockpile. My medicines are still boxed up for the most part from the bathroom remodel, and I am still waiting on my wall cabinet. My food needs to be straightened out, so I'd be embarrassed for you to see it. LOL
*************************************
I had an exhausting day at Kroger yesterday, but I saved 61%, which I consider really good considering I bought a lot of chicken.

Campbell's Healthy Harvest Healthy Choice soup...Italian wedding soup flavor was on closeout for 69 cents each. I used a coupon for 50 cents/2, which doubled, making them 19 cents each. I have never had it, but for 19 cents, I sure the heck am willing to try it!

I also found rectangle boxes of Kleenex on closeout for 59 cents a box. I used 50 cents/3 and got them all for 77 cents.

Another great deal was Jimmy Dean sausage. It was $1.99, and I still had 2 coupons to get free patties or links wyb roll sausage, and the links were $3!! So, for $4, I got 2 rolls, and 2 packages of links.

Sure deodorant was on closeout for $1.45 and I had $1 coupons, making them 45 cents each.

Carl Budding Deli cuts are on sale for $1.99, and I used $1 coupons to get the for $1 a pack. These are normally around $4.

I got Colgate Total free using $1.50 paper coupon and $1.50 cellfire coupon.

Johnson Buddies are still producing catalina coupons. I origially bought 3 using 3-$1 coupons. (They are $1.09) So, 27 cents for all 3. It produced a $3/3 coupon. I used that to buy 3 more, which also produced a coupon. So, until that promo ends, I get 3 for 27 cents every time I go.

Please note that coupons.com has coupons for a lot of the sale items. There is a link to the left (one of the buttons) that will take you right to them. Often, they have high dollar coupons for things.

In the end, I spent $52.35 with a savings of $81.25.

*******************************************

Update on Westgate. After numerous calls, etc...I realize....they have me. There's not much I can do. Apparently, unless I used the vacation by July, there was ANOTHER $75 charge that they never told us about. So, if you are keeping up, they now want another $275 over the $800 I originally paid. FINALLY, the woman tells me they will upgrade the room (which I MUST do) for $100, and waive the $75. I had no choice, other than not go and forfeit $800. So, I paid the $100. Nothing more I can do. I will never EVER do business with this company again. EVER. However, I am going to do my best to enjoy this vacation in October, and take advantage of all they have to offer while I am there. I certainly paid for it.
*******************************************
Tomorrow, I hit Walmart. Have a great shopping day!

****************************

I am really going to start looking at Food Lion. They don't double coupons which REALLY bothers me, but they DO send out printables for their store, which usually turn out to be a good deal.

****************************

I got my Glade Sense and Spray from BzzAgent today. I got Clean Linen, which is one of my FAVORITE scents. This little thing is SNAZZY. I have been using the Lysol and/or the Air Wick ones that spray every so often..well..I use those in the boys' bathroom because boys sometimes don't smell so nice. The boys aren't home during the day, though, and that little sucker is just in there spraying away. Now, thinking about it...that's not saving me money.

This Glade bad-boy however is motion activated (up to 5 feet!) so it will only spray when they go in there! AND to keep them from playing with it...as boys do...it locks the motion sensor for 30 minutes so they can't overspray. It also has a "burst" button- you know...if you KNOW someone is going to go use your bathroom...just in case. It's better looking than the Air Wick and the Lysol, too, which look like they belong in a gas station restroom.

I am buying one for the other bathroom, and darn it, I might buy one for the living room, too. I really, REALLY like this.

**********************************

Sign up for the Arby's extras if you haven't already. You can do it on their website. They are sending out awesome coupons lately.

Also, sign up for the TGIFridays stripes card...they are sending out some darn good ones, too!

********************************

Your free Redbox code for today is 2GR4N8- good until midnight.

Everyone have a great shopping day!

One more thing...

You can find the achives of the blog at the bottom of the page now...if you are newer to couponing, or even if you have a few questions, please check out the early postings. There is a lot of useful information in them.

J.

big week!

First, a rant.

April of '07, we were in the Smokies. Some people from Westgate Timeshare talked us into seeing their timeshare. (Basically, we were bribed with Dollywood tickets) So, we go. No way are we buying a timeshare, but we DID buy a 1 week vacation with them. It was a little pricey...$800 plus interest every month for making payments on the $800...but we reasoned that they had a HUGE indoor waterpark, so we could skip Dollywood that year and just let the kids utilize the waterpark. (Dollywood would be like $250) First, we were told it would be a 1 bedroom unit. Then, later we were told it was a smaller unit, similar to a hotel room. ok, fine.Ok, so we had the option of paying it off and using it at any time. We were going to pay it off last year and use it...I called months in advance. Nope, we're full. I called today to book for Oct. He tells me that since my youngest is now 4, he can't sleep in a sleeping bag on the floor, and we have to pay $200 to upgrade to a 1br. NO! I paid $800 to stay here, and I want my room!He said the one we bought only sleeps 4 and he can't sleep there. I HAVE to upgrade, or not check in basically. Well, the 1 BR says it only sleeps 4 too! AND I can stay at any freaking hotel in the Smokies and he can sleep on the floor. So, he keeps on and on...FINE...I want my money back....Well, it's non-refundable. Of course it is. I am so furious. I just called for the corporate office and I am waiting for someone to call me back. I feel scammed. I asked them if there would be a problem with him sleeping on the floor when I bought the thing...nope. Not a problem. He keeps telling me the contract SAYS the room only sleeps 4. So does the thing for a 1 bedroom, so why do I HAVE to upgrade? If someone wants you to buy from them....DON'T.

***************************************************

On to other things. I have a friend who's house burned last week. He, his wife and their oldest son went to Red Robin. The son mentioned to the waitress that he wasn't in school because their house burned. The manager came over a little while later, gave them their meal for free, and gave them Red Robin gift cards. He also said he would be calling corporate to see what they could do for them. He said it was policy to help in such situations. I am really impressed by this company. I don't have one nearby, but I want you all to know so that you can give them your business because they deserve it.

****************************************************

Walgreens has some great deals this week.

If you spend $25 in certain items, you get a $10 Register Reward. Some of those items are Huggies Diapers. Coupons.com and Couponbug.com both had $5 off coupons. This makes for cheap diapers! There are also coupons here: http://www.redplum.com/pages/Grocery.aspx Some people who don't need diapers are still getting the large $6 wipes with the coupons..2 packs, and 2 packs of Scott Tissue, using $1 coupons on the Scott, paying $14 out of pocket and getting $10 back. That's a good deal, too and wipes can be used for many things.

Also, Glade Sense and Spray and Glade Lasting Impressions are $7.99. There are $4 off coupons in the easysaver books, and there were $4 coupons in an insert at the beginning of Feb. There is also a $4 off Sense and Spray in the March issue of All You. This will make them free. If you printed off some of the BOGOF coupons from Glade.com (I believe they are gone now) then you can make money on them. Buy 4, use 2 BOGOF and 2 $4 coupons. The $4 coupons are for the ones you buy, and the other 2 are free. Be sure to buy something to take up the overage. Diapers, maybe?

Garnier Shampoo, conditioners and stylers are $2.99, and there is a $2 coupon in the easy saver book. There are also $1 coupons in the inserts, making them free. You can also get a free workout towel by buying 2 on one receipt. send an original receipt showing the purchase of two or more Garnier products, your name, address and phone number to:
SELF Magazine, Garnier Gift-March
4 Times Square, 5th Floor
New York, NY 10036
Attn: M. Catapano

Colgate Total is $3.49, with a $2.50 coupon in the easysaver book, and $1 internet coupon here: http://offers.e-centives.com/siflo/reg/survey.cfm?s=Yz0xJmY9MSZjdT0xJmJxPTEmdmlkPTUyOCZvPTE4MTU0MTYmcD00NjEmcHQ9NiZjbz0zMjcmZndlYj0xJnNjPTMyNyZyVVJMPSUyRnNpZmxvJTJGcG9zdHJlZ2lzdGVyJTJFY2ZtJTNGdmlkJTNENTI4JTI2dCUzRDYlMjZzJTNEMTAzNjE5MjExMCUyNm1iJTNENTMyNCUyNmZ3ZWIlM0QxJTI2Y28lM0QzMjclMjZzYyUzRDMyNyUyNmlkJTNEOGZhN2U5MzAlMkQ5ODI4JTJENDQ3OCUyRDk5MzglMkQ3YzJkMmFhMzNhMzQmcz0xMDM2MTkyMTEwJm1iPTUzMjQmaWQ9OGZhN2U5MzAtOTgyOC00NDc4LTk5MzgtN2MyZDJhYTMzYTM0

If you buy a Irish Spring Body wash ($4.49, I think) coupons are printing after purchase for free ones.

Right Guard is $2.99, get a $2 RR

Coffeemate is BOGOF at $2.49. Use coupon here: http://www.coffee-mate.com/getyourcoupon/default.aspx?source=10078462 to get 2 for 99 cents. You can try to use 2, but they may not take them since the second one if free. WG rings up as the second one free, not 1/2 price each like Kroger.

The Sambucol deal is still going. There are also $3 coupons in some of the boxes if your WG gives you trouble with internet coupons.

Fusion Gamer razors are $8.99 with a $4 rr...use the $4 coupon from P&G inserts to get them for 99 cents after RR

Remember...if you use a RR to pay for a transaction, you may not get another RR if they are from the same company (P&G to P&G). Keep an eye out. There should be no problems if they are from differing companies. (P&G to SCJohnson)

Always give your manufacturers coupons first, and your easysaver coupons last. I just set them on the counter in that order.

************************************************

free plants!

Spring Hill nursery is offering $20 free merchandise. You do have to pay shipping. This would be great for lanscaping or gardening.

I think I am going to plant some things this year. I have planted tomatoes for a few years now, and last year, I planted squash and cucumbers as well. It was nice it being right out there. So, I bought seeds for cucumbers, squash, zucchini, green beans, lettuce, carrots, and black eyed peas. I am going to start them indoors. I will buy my tomato plants from a nearby nursery that sells them really cheap. If have room for a garden, try it out. If you don't, you can plant tomatoes in planters.

All You magazine...I may have mentioned before....is only sold through subscription or through Walmart. It's a great magazine and it usually has really good coupons. I recommend it!!!

If you are looking for something to read...try books by Janet Evanovich. They are hilarious. Her Stephanie Plum series is really amusing. It's crime, but with a lot of smiles thrown in. There is some language if you are offended by that sort of thing.

Sterlite..they make containers, rolling carts, etc...they have really good customer service. I contacted them because I bought a rolling cart...I never really moved it from the spot I put it in. I go to move it, and the wheels COLLAPSE. Grrr. So, I look and the spot where the back 2 wheels are is out of shape. They sent me a new bottom section for the cart and 2 new wheels.

I have heard that Walgreens is doing away with the Easy Saver rebates. This kinda saddens me...but I DID hear that they will increase the Register Rewards program. If they do, that will kind of even it out.

Speaking of...there is a child's Pepto in WATERMELON flavor only on clearance at a lot of Walgreens. If you buy 3, you get an $8 rr. The clearance price varies, but hovers around $1.39

*****************************************************

Some CVS's have 90% off of certain things. Worth checking out if you are nearby. $14.99 robes for $1.49 I think they are Valentine's Day leftovers.

I don't have a Super Target near me, but if you do, there are coupons here: http://sites.target.com/site/en/supertarget/page.jsp?title=coupons_specials for Sutton and Dodge meat...$2. Some package prices hover just over $2. A great deal on meat! I'm jealous!

Shopping this week

First....here's a free Dr Pepper coupon...it comes mailed to you.
http://www.freedietdrpepper.com/

Walgreens has been great this week. Not only do the 99 cent soaps qualify for the register rewards, but so do trial size deodorants. If you have deodorant coupons, you can probably use them if they don't specify a size. Buy 8, get $10 register rewards.

Something else I was able to do there....the 1 sleeve Ritz cracker boxes are BOGOF at @1.99. I used a $2/2 coupon (it doesn't specify sizes) and got 2 for free.

The Starbucks chocolate is 2/$10 at my store..inside the easy saver booklet is a coupon for $6/2 bags. There have been tearpads of $1 off coupons all over the place. I have seen them at both Walmart and Kroger. So, using the easysaver coupon and the $1 coupons, you pay $1 each for the bags. Not bad. This is yummy chocolate. This deal is good all month.

Tuesday, I went to Walgreens...I got the Axe hair care FAR, the Colgate Max free after RR, a clearance toy, 4 candy bars, 2 Starbucks chocolate using the deal above, 8 Dove bars, and a couple of other odds and ends...after rebate and RR, my out of pocket was around $4

Today, I went back...I bought bobby pins (it was windy today!), 2 of the Ritz crackers, 1 box of Sambucol (there is a $10 easy saver coupon and a $4 coupon on their website. It's reg. $12.99, making this a money maker), 4 candy bars, 2 Starbucks chocolate..the total was $30 something before coupons...I paid a little over $4

I found smaller bottles of Johnson's 24 hour lotion (the grown-up lotion) next to the big bottles for 97 cents at Walmart today...there is a $1 off coupon out, making these free.

At the photographer in Walmart..in most stores...there is a bag that says "moms matter". Inside are some really good coupons. There is one for $3 off any Cascade and it is rolled back to $4 at WM, and a $5 off Swiffer starter kit, which is $8. There are many more coupons inside.

Kroger had 4 lb bags of Iams Smart puppy dog food for $6.59. This pairs well with the $5 coupon in the recent P&G insert.

If you have coupons for Glade Lasting Impressions of Sense and Spray, they will be on sale at Walgreens next week for $7.99, and there is also a $4 easy saver coupon in the booklet. There is also a BOGOF coupon on the website, as well as $ off coupons.

Coupons.com and couponbug.com both have $5 Huggies coupons on them! There will be a deal on them next week at Walgreens, too. (spend $25 and get $10 rr-- remember the $25 is before coupons)

I'm exhausted now!
Have a great shopping day!

Walgreens this week!!

Buy 4 Select Dove Products get $2, Buy 6 get $6, Buy 8 Get $10 RR...this is all month. Now, the beauty of this, is that some are posting this week that you can buy the Dove bars on sale for 99 cents with the in ad coupon, and a $10 RR will pop out, making this a money maker. Hurry if you want to try it before they try and change it. For $7.92, you will get 8 Dove bars and $10 RR back.

Also this week, Colgate max toothpaste is $3.29 with a $3.29 RR...use a 75 cent coupon that's out and make 75 cents on it. (they have been giving out $3.50 rr!!)

If you got Blink coupons in your Redplum insert, they are $7.99 with a $7.99 RR...use the $2 coupon and make $2 If you didn't get it, there is a $1.50 internet coupon here: http://www.yourhealthyeyes.com/ Look at the bottom of the page.

Reach dental care is 99 cents with the in-ad coupon. Use the $1 coupon from early February to get it free.

Don't you love when they pay you to take stuff from the store?

Nivea lip care is $2.99..use the $1 coupon in the easysaver book and the $1 coupon from early February to get it for 99 cents. That's a decent price.

For the month:

Axe hair care is $5.99, free after easysaver rebate

Wal-zyr (Zyrtec knock off?) is $3.99 free after rebate

Walgreens extra strength headache relief is $2.99 FAR

and

Memory Formula is $19.99, FAR.

I hope this helps you out. I will be heading to WG tomorrow. :)

Have a great shopping day!
